A man who claimed that he was served with a deep fried rat in KFC made rounds on the internet last week but is now belied by an independent lab that proved that the alleged "rat" was actually chicken.

Devorise Dixon took photos of his three-piece chicken-tender meal from a KFC in Compton, Calif. saying he needs a lawyer.

According to Business Insider, the situation was highly suspicious and that the product in question was most likely a chicken tender that was merely shaped like a rat.

This can be proven through the images from Dixon where white meat is seen and the limbs and bones of a rat were missing.

KFC released a statement saying that the product was "tested by a third-party independent lab, which confirmed it is definitely a piece of chicken," BBC News reported.

They urged Dixon to apologize and cease making false claims about the KFC brand.

Dixon's lawyer turned over the chicken tender after KFC repeatedly reached out to him, requesting to take the "rat" to an independent party for testing.

It is unclear if KFC will pursue legal actions against Dixon but said that they are currently "reviewing all options at this point."

Meanwhile, Dixon remained silent and has not commented on the issue publicly.
