Looks like good behavior can yield rewards—even if you killed nine people just 16 hours before.

Dylann Storm Roof was noted as both "polite" and "quiet" while in police custody in North Carolina, according to a police chief who spoke with the Charlotte Observer. "He sat down here very quietly. He was not problematic," said Chief Jeff Ledford.

While in custody, after about 16 hours on the run, Roof complained he was hungry. So the police took the logical course of action by leaving the station to buy him food from Burger King, according to Salon.

"Earlier in the day, Roof had bought water and chips at a south Charlotte gas station. Now he was hungry. Police bought him food from a nearby Burger King," said Ledford, according to Inquistir.

Upon learning this fact, many were outraged by the officers' treatment towards an admitted murderer who did so solely because of race. Many people took their outrage to Twitter to voice their opinions.

Regardless of the officers' reasoning, be it good behavior, policy or something entirely different, the mere thought that officers are giving preferential treatment doesn't make sense and leaves many concerned.
