Troubled star Amanda Bynes is finally receiving psychiatric treatment, to the relief of fans and her family, and the New York Daily News reports that earlier this week, she has been transported to the same hospital that treated Britney Spears, leaving her psychiatric center wrapped under blankets and concealed by a blue wig.

Bynes, whose parents claim she suffers from paranoia, hallucinations and distorted body image, were photographed leaving Hillmont Psychiatric Center with their daughter who clearly did not want to be seen. Bynes appeared to be wearing a bright blue cap or wig that concealed her face, draped in a large white blanket and wearing only white socks on her feet.

The 27-year old actress has been receiving psychiatric care after being placed on a 5150 hold last month for setting a small fire in a stranger's driveway in Thousand Oaks, Calif. Last week, she was placed under two temporary conservatorships, one that allowed doctors to supervise her through the first week of September, and another that will allow her mother, Lynn Bynes, to watch over her until Sept. 30.

"Amanda has profound issues with her body image and is obsessed with the idea that she [and others] are 'ugly,'" her parents said several weeks ago. "She talks incessantly about cosmetic surgeries that she wants to have completed. We are concerned that the surgeries she wants to have are dangerous and detrimental to her health."

Bynes's bizarre public behavior, run-ins with the law and strange and often troubling Twitter rants made her a subject of mockery and media scrutiny over the past few months, but her struggles are clearly real, perhaps rooted in pressures to be a child star from her days on Nickelodeon.

"Amanda has made significant improvements, she is doing better than she was," an insider recently told FOX411's Pop Tarts column. "There are no drug problems involved, it's all mental. She has deep anger and PTSD, which tripped a psychotic episode...She is very ill, but manageable. Amanda genuinely wants to get better and has wanted to get better for some time."

Other reports have claimed that Bynes is suffering from schizophrenia, though her actual diagnosis remains unknown.
