General Motors is showing off its new Cadillac two-door grand coupe concept car aimed at the young and well off buyers.

Cadillac, one of the world's oldest luxury car brands since 1902, unveiled the all-new two-door Elmiraj concept vehicle at the annual Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in California, next to the Pebble Beach Resort, Thursday. Cadillac aims to appeal to the young, rich buyers who look out for luxury packed with high performance.

The four-seat Elmiraj concept car with sharp edges, steep LED headlamps and huge 22-inch alloys measures 205 inches long (the biggest of all its models), which is five inches longer than its biggest XTS model.

If the concept car hits production, it would mark the beginning of the large luxury performance car category after the DTS went out of production in 2010.

The lengthy Elmiraj is about the length of an Audi A8 or Mercedes S-Class, both  categorized asluxury performance vehicles. Elmiraj is fitted with a powerful 4.5-liter twin-turbocharged 8-cylender engine and about 500 horsepower. Even after this if you feel the need to push the envelope a little further, the Elmiraj uses lightweight materials that cut weight and raise fuel efficiency.

The exterior and interior design of the Elmiraj concept car was designed by GM engineers in North Hollywood, California. The car displayed during the event was hand built by in-house craftsmen in Michigan, according to Cadillac.

Cadillac took a page from its own 1967 Cadillac Eldorado two-door luxury coupe and the CTS-V coupe to bring the Elmiraj concept to its customers, Henry Ford Company said, according to The State.
