Artist Lauryn Hill sampled acclaimed singer Nina Simone for her new tune, "I've Got Life." This is one of the six tracks Hill recorded for the upcoming album "Nina Revisited: A Tribute to Nina Simone," reported Rolling Stone.

The former Fugees singer released a chilling rendition of Simone's hit "Feeling Good" last week, and then shared the second track with her fans via Facebook. Listen to the clip now:

"Watch the words, how they twist them/Two-thirds of the world turned victim/Subtle energy that capture and block chi/The unseen violence behind a democracy/Some call it hypocrisy," raps Hill over Simone's 1968 song "Ain't Got No, I Got Life."

"Thought it appropriate to share now," wrote Hill on her Facebook page.

Here is a snippet of I've Got Life, soon to be released on the Nina Simone Tribute Album, Nina Revisited...A Tribute to Nina Simone Thought it appropriate to share now. Album is out on July 10th.

The tribute album will be released alongside "What Happened, Miss Simone?," the forthcoming documentary about Simone's life, according to Spin. Other artists on the album include Mary J. Blige, Usher, Common and Simone's daughter Lisa Simone. The album is due July 10 and the film will be available June 26 via Netflix.

Simone's legacy is being celebrated posthumously, reported the New York Times. The singer, songwriter and pianist is known for her blend of gospel and jazz. Simone was also outspoken about civil rights and the messages she sang about are still relevant today.

“How can you be an artist and not reflect the times?” asked Simone in the documentary, according to the New York Times. “That, to me, is the definition of an artist.”
