Nicole Kidman has enjoyed a successful career, but there's one role she regrets not saying yes to when offered.

Jane Campion asked a 14-year-old Kidman to star in a short film that she wrote and was directing called "A Girl's Own Story." The actress looked at the script, but when she read her character wore a shower cap kissed a girl, she turned it down.

The Oscar-winning actress wanted to have long, flowing hair when she kissed boys on screen, she admitted at the Women in Film's Crystal + Lucy Awards. She received the Crystal Award for excellence in film and during her acceptance speech she made up for the lost part.

Kidman pulled a shower cap from her purse and stated she was "ready... to kiss any woman in the room." The presenter and her longtime friend Naomi Watts stepped in, wearing her own shower cap, and the two ladies locked lips.

In her speech, the 47-year-old actress encouraged other women to "take risks, raise our voices and honor the fire within."

The ceremony at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles also honored "Selma" director Ava DuVernay, "Transparent" creator Jill Soloway, actress Kate Mara, talent agent Toni Howard and Warner Bros. executive Sue Kroll. Other attendees included Sandra Bullock, Phylicia Rashad, Regina King, Angie Harmon, Laura Linney, Judith Light and Maria Bello, who served as the event's host.
