Rosie Perez has revealed information about her sexuality as a teenager and is very happy to finally publically talk about it.

The co-host of "The View" spoke at the TrevorLIVE New York on Monday night to support The Trevor Project, an LGBTQ youth foundation focusing on suicide prevention, according to Entertainment Tonight.

The 50-year-old actress spoke about a "questioning phase" she went through as a teenager and revealed that she was in a relationship with a girl named Michelle in junior high.

"Every human being, whether they want to admit it or not, went through a period of questioning," she said. "I know I did."

She knew the moment she met Michelle that she felt this way about her, and luckily the feeling was mutual.

"I met this girl named Michelle, [and] all I wanted to do was hump her," she admitted. "And I suppressed the urge until Michelle, one day, started humping on me."

She calls herself "quasi-straight" and is happy to know she wasn't alone in this, according to Fox News.

"I'm not the only one that suppressed those feelings, who hid their story," she said. "I'm not lesbian, gay or whatever. I'm a quasi-straight person. I still went through that period, and thought I was all alone."

Perez is now married to Eric Haze, but she will always remember how it felt to feel as though she didn't belong.

"I remember that hurt and that hurt kept me silent," she continued. "And that silence brought shame. I didn't have a community. No, I'm not gay, lesbian, transgender...but I'm a human being."

Perez couldn't be happier that there's an organization like this one that she can support and be a part of, and not only because of her past relationship.

"Just because I was poor, I was ostracized and made to feel less than or different," she told PEOPLE. "And there were some wonderful people in my life, specifically my father and my aunt but also community leaders that said, 'No, it's okay to be different and just let your spirit shine,' and that's what this organization does."
