It's not exactly a national secret that the NFL is short on quality quarterbacks. It's why the league is divided into haves and have-nots. Teams like the Houston Texans, Buffalo Bills, New York Jets and others are left out in the cold while the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks keep on trucking with their franchise guys.

The best way to get a potential franchise quarterback is through the draft, which is what the Tampa Bay Buccaneers did when they selected Jameis Winston first overall. That pick made 25-year-old QB Mike Glennon expendable.

Glennon may not be a freak athlete at the position like Cam Newton or possess uncanny cerebral skills like Peyton Manning. But he is a pocket passer who can get the ball downfield and threw for 2,608 yards with 19 touchdowns and nine interceptions in 13 games two years ago. As a result, ESPN NFL Insider Matt Williamson suggests that the Cleveland Browns should try and trade for him.

"Reunite with Josh McCown?" Williamson wrote. "Hey, why not? I preferred Glennon to McCown in Tampa for a whole host of reasons, including the fact that he's 10 years younger. As is the case with most of the teams listed here, Glennon has the arm strength to handle the rough conditions at his new home, and the Browns' offensive line would be a huge upgrade over what he played behind in Tampa. With Johnny Manziel still in the picture, there's quite a bit of unknown floating around Cleveland. Maybe he plays great and fulfills his potential, but it's worth noting that Manziel's tape from his rookie season couldn't have been worse. If Cleveland were to trade for Glennon right now, I bet he would be the Browns' starter by midseason."

Will this happen? Probably not. Should this happen? One could make a strong case for it. It was just two weeks ago that ESPN Cleveland's Tony Grossi reported that Manziel looks like a "fish out of water" in OTAs and that the Browns were "moving on" from him. We'll have to wait to see if they pull the trigger or not.
