Caitlyn Jenner didn't always like the way her ex-wife Kris Jenner treated her in their marriage, but she ultimately remembers the love they shared for 23 years.

"Reading the VF article reminded me of the love & good times Kris & I shared for so many years," Caitlyn tweeted on Friday. "Wouldn't trade that time for anything!"

The former couple finalized their divorce in December before Caitlyn completed her transition. They had two children together - 19-year-old Kendall and 17-year-old Kylie.

In the Vanity Fair cover story, the 65-year-old former Olympian insisted the 59-year-old Kris knew about her earlier hormone injections before their marriage. The Kardashian matriarch claimed her ex-partner was vague on the subject.

"This was a conversation that took place in the early '90s. So, what he was telling me happened a decade earlier, and he never really explained it," Kris told Vanity Fair (via Us Weekly).

Caitlyn also spoke about the mistreatment she received from Kris, especially when the Kardashian empire began to rise.

"A lot of times she wasn't very nice," Caitlyn said. "People would see how I got mistreated. She controlled the money ... all that kind of stuff."

Kris also differed with Caitlyn on this subject. She credits Caitlyn's frustration and despair to living a life in a body that she never wanted.

"He was married to me and he wasn't who he wanted to be so he was miserable," Kris said. "All I was doing was working very hard for my family so that we could all have a wonderful future, and he was pissed off. At the end of my relationship with Bruce he definitely had a lot of social anxiety... That was one of the reasons we were in a struggle at the end. We fought a lot because we would go out together and before we got to the end of the block we were in a fight because he started saying, 'When can we go home?'"

Caitlyn will star in her new reality show, "I Am Cait," which premieres on Sunday, July 16 at 9 p.m.
