Gunshots were fired close to the Dallas Police Department headquarters, which prompted a chase involving several police vehicles and ended in a heated confrontation.

An unidentified suspect fired numerous gunshots close to the Jack Evans Police Headquarters early Saturday morning, reported the Associated Press.

A video from CNN shows the suspect's armored van ramming into a police vehicle and speeding off.

Officers chased the vehicle southbound on Interstate 45. The chase ended with a confrontation in the parking lot of a Jack in the Box restaurant along I-45, near Interstate 20 in Hutchins.

The I-45 was shut down while a Dallas SWAT team was brought in, according to NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth.

Dallas Police Chief David Brown said four bags were discovered near the building, one of which contained one or more pipe bombs. A bomb then exploded as a bomb squad robot attempted to move the bag, reported WFAA. There were no injuries.
