Now that Cote de Pablo is on her way out, the NCIS team is looking for replacement for Ziva, according to TVLine.com.

Until they find Ms. David’s successor Executive Producer Gary Glasberg said the show will get a variety of “fun people” to fill the seat until a permanent replacement is found.

“…in the third episode we introduce, for instance, a woman in her 50s who is a few days away from retirement and just needs to fill the desk time,” said Glasberg describing an example. “She, in theory, knew Gibbs all the way back to the days of Mike Franks.”

Glasberg is most likely talking about Roma Mafia. It was reported by TV Guide earlier this month that she would be coming to the show as Vera Strickland, a veteran special agent

"Roma Maffia is a wonderful actress who fits this role perfectly," Glasberg had said. "Considered 'one of the boys,' her character goes all the way back to NIS and Mike Franks [guest star Muse Watson]. We couldn't be happier to have Roma for this very fun episode.”

The EP told TVLine that Ziva’s permanent replacement will be named Bishop.

She’ll be “bright, educated, athletic, attractive, fresh-faced, focused and somewhat socially awkward. She has a mysterious mixture of analytic brilliance, fierce determination and idealism,” explained Glasberg. “She’s traveled extensively, but only feels comfortable at home.”

The variety of “fun people” will continue for a number of weeks.

“And then, hopefully, when people are comfortable enough, one will walk in and be The One,” Glasberg said.

Season 11 of NCIS is set to begin Sept. 24, 8/7c.
