PETA successfully saved more than 80 rabbits from a backyard breeder who was trying to sell them online for meat and fur.

The international animal rights organization found an advertisement of Craigslist that said a farm owner was trying to sell an entire herd of rabbits.

When PETA arrived at the scene, they found the rabbits in small, feces-filled, wire bottomed cages. The organization rescued all the animals and with the help of the San Diego Humane Society and SPCA, they got the rabbits the veterinary care they needed to survive.

The rabbits are now up for adoption at the San Diego Humane Society.
