Chris Brown still has love for Karrueche Tran.

The 26-year-old Grammy winner opened up about his feelings for his ex-girlfriend during an interview on Ryan Seacrest's radio show, "On Air with Ryan Seacrest." Despite a dramatic confrontation between the two last week, Brown admitted that he was still in love with the 27-year-old aspiring actress, and is hoping to make the best out of a tricky situation.

"Do you think that she is in your future? Do you think that she will be back with you someday?" Seacrest asked Brown.

"I'm going to be honest and be a man about it and just take it one day at a time," Brown confessed. "I can't promise anything and I can't jump over the moon, but it takes time for all wounds [to heal]. I take full responsibility for my actions and things that I've done in the past. I feel like it's just a time thing."

He added, "I'm not a hateful person. Of course I still love her, but mentally right now, I think everything takes time. I just need to focus on being the best father I can be."

Brown and Tran split in March after she learned that the singer had fathered a daughter named Royalty, with model Nia Guzman.

Last week, the two were involved in a heated argument outside Playhouse club on Hollywood Boulevard. Brown reportedly confronted his ex after mutual friends tricked him into thinking that Tran wanted to reconcile.

While things cooled off between Brown and Tran, the singer says he'll stay focused on his daughter, who he admitted changed his life.

"There comes a time when people kind of have to grow up and become more of an adult and take on different responsibilities," he added. "I think this was just a blessing in disguise with my daughter because I get a chance to look at her and teach her the right path and also be a father in my daughter's life. Just to see a smile on her face - just to see the littlest things - is emotional for me, so I just love that aspect of being able to be a father now."

Brown has been very public about his relationship with his daughter, posting photos and videos of her on social media and even taking her to the Billboard Music Awards on May 17.
