J.R.R. Tolkien fans can finally lay their eyes on the fresh literary work of the legendary writer. According to Mashable, HarperCollins has published "Beren and Lúthien," a book that tells the love story of a mortal human being and an immortal elf. It has been adapted by the son of J.R.R. Tolkien, Christopher Tolkien, who relied on the material inside "The History of Middle-earth," which is a compilation of 12 volumes of the material that revolves around the fiction of the legendary writer.

"Beren and Lúthien" is a story that Tolkien wrote after he came back from World War 1, having experienced its horrors in the form of the battle of the Somme. The fictional love story might be set in an imaginary world but the author got inspiration for the story in a real setting. John Garth, a specialist on the author's work, says that the idea struck him when he was talking a walk with his wife Edith in the woods in East Yorkshire.

As J.R.R. Tolkien and Edith walked, the latter began to dance in a glade that was bustling with white flowers and this dance finds mention in the story in the form of the key scene. Garth says that the author felt that he could never feel the joy that he was feeling in those moments.

The book offers to be a delight for his fans as it carries illustrations by Alan Lee, who has won an Academy Award for the film "Lord of the Rings." It is worth mentioning here that "Beren and Lúthien" might be a book and names of fictional characters but they also feature on the tombstone of J.R.R. Tolkien and Edith in the Wolvercote Cemetery in Oxford.
