Warning: The following contains possible spoilers for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

The lineage of Daisy Ridley's Rey in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" has long been a source of speculative debate. In a recent interview in Japan, Ridley herself may have shed a little bit of light on the matter.

"I'm not sure how much I can say. I guess because I've said that I'm solitary, and that's how I begin, that is probably a big clue as to what ... [executive producer Kathleen Kennedy nervously chuckles] ... it is," Ridley said.

No names were dropped and nothing she said was definitive, but it doesn't take a Jedi Master to draw the connection between "solitary" and "Solo." Ridley seems to be hinting that her character is the daughter of Han Solo.

This would make sense for several reasons. First, it would continue the original trilogy's themes of familial dynamics which serve as strong emotional lining for the overarching plots. J.J. Abrams knows he has to honor the previous films (don't worry, not the prequels) while also creating a story that can stand on its own for new generations. Making one of the main characters Han's daughter would accomplish that. It would also establish a sense of dramatic stakes, especially if other rumors indicating further blood relations prove to be true.

What do you think, "Star Wars" fans? Is Ridley pointing at a connection to Han or just sending us on a wild goose chase? Let us know in the comments section below.
