British actor Michael Enright had such a strong reaction to the ISIS execution videos, he flew halfway across the world to fight the terrorist organization.

Enright joined the Kurdish People's Protection Units in Syria to fight back against the Islamic State, according to ABC News. The "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor gave an interview to Dubai-based channel Al Aan TV and cited the video of the Jordanian pilot being burned alive as well as the beheading of U.S. journalists as the reason he joined the Kurdish forces.

The 51-year-old actor also found it disappointing that the man who carried out the beheadings was a fellow Englishman. He reportedly "felt a debt" to Americans and wanted "to help right a wrong" even if it means dying himself.

"They need to be wiped off completely from the face of this earth," he told Al Aan TV. "I didn't come here to run, I came here to fight and if I have to die, then I die. I didn't come here to play games."

Enright didn't inform his Hollywood peers or family until he arrived in Syria. He then sent them a letter saying he loved them and may not return.

Since arriving, he has learned about the Islam religion and changed his named to Mustafa Michael Ali. Enright has no military background.

He last starred in an episode of ABC's "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." last October. His other credits include "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" and "Knight and Day."
