Five days after the first California Amber Alert, authorities have yet to locate alleged murderer James Lee DiMaggio and missing teenager, Hannah Anderson and her brother, Ethan.

Now, new details have surfaced stating DiMaggio, 40, might be using explosives, according to the Los Angeles Times. DiMaggio has abandoned his blue Nissan Versa and "left it booby-trapped with explosives, "authorities said.

Police are warning people to not approach the vehicle if they spot it.

DiMaggio is wanted for questioning in the alleged murder of Hannah's mother, Christina Anderson, and her brother Ethan. A child's body was found in the birth remains of the couple's California home, but authorities have yet to confirm it is, in fact, Ethan.

"It is a possibility that it's Ethan," San Diego County Sheriff's Department Lt. Glenn Giannantonio told Fox News. "Right now we just don't know. And we're praying that it isn't Ethan."

A friend of Hannah told Fox News the missing teen never felt comfortable around DiMaggio.

"She was a little creeped out by it. She didn't want to be alone with him," the friend said.

According to the LA Times, officials believe DiMaggio is dangerous and capable of anything. Authorities say DiMaggio is an avid outdoorsman, and people should be on the lookout at local campsites.

The first Amber Alert was issued Monday night, but another was sent to Oregon and Washington state after there were reports of his car sightings.

Authorities have received many tips about the case, but have not reported any progress in the case, the LA Times reports.

"Basically, the search area is the United States, Canada and Mexico," Giannantonio told the LA Times. "The search area is North America."

Police have issued an arrest warrant for DiMaggio, and a judge set bail at $1 million if he is arrested.
