Danielle Puddefoot, the University of Bridgeport women's soccer player accused of head-butting her teammate, received probation after the incident resulted in being charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct. She has maintained her innocence all along, and in an exclusive interview with HNGN's Chrissy Oakes, Puddefoot now tells her side of the story for the first time.

Police in Connecticut say Puddefoot, a senior at the time, head-butted teammate Hailey Marquis on April 30 during a confrontation inside a dorm room. The confrontation, police say, stemmed from Puddefoot being angry about not winning an award for good sportsmanship at the university sports banquet and resulted in Marquis suffering two black eyes.

The case went to court and a judge granted her accelerated rehabilitation, a probationary program for nonviolent offenders that allowed Puddefoot not to plead guilty and to have her charges dismissed after one year if she doesn't commit any other crimes during that time.

Puddefoot refused to write an apology letter or to admit any wrongdoing in court, and now for the first time she's telling her side of the story about what happened that night.
