Vincent D'Onofrio put away criminals for 10 years on "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," but now Hollywood is booking him to play the other side of the law.

D'Onofrio is in negotiations to play the villainous role in the upcoming "CHiPs" movie, based on the 1970s cop show, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He would star alongside Dax Shepard and Michael Pena, who will play officers Jon Baker and Frank Poncherollo.

Plot details are scarce, but the movie will involve an exotic car theft ring. D'Onofrio would play the ring leader who's a ruthless former cop.

The "Daredevil" star will next star in "Jurassic World" with Chris Pratt on June 12. He and Pratt will team up again in "The Magnificent Seven" remake also starring Denzel Washington and directed by Antoine Fuqua.
