Last year, your phone's keyboard received a number of new skin tones for its emojis. Next year, it could have selfies and bacon available.

The Unicode Consortium is a small organization from Mountain View, Calif., that manages which characters and symbols the three major OSes will use in their interface. This includes the emojis and letters that you'll  find in your standard phone keyboard. The company is constantly updating the keyboard with its Unicode update, which often offers users new versions of its keyboard. Now the company is looking to expand its keyboard potential.

The consortium posted a document on May 8 listing 38 new emojis that might appear on a user's phone in the near future. Some popular requests did appear on the list, including selfie, bacon and dancing emojis. It also features a variety of new expressions and animals.

While this is the final list of new emojis, the consortium is still waiting for a vote of approval from all of its members, according to Yahoo! But if all goes well, users should see these emojis after the June 2016 release of Unicode 9.0.

This emoji update comes more than a month after Unicode 8.0, which added color options for the human emoji's skin. It also added a taco and a unicorn.
