After incursions into Indian territories in recent months, Chinese soldiers along the borders are resorting to new tactics like preventing the Indian army from patrolling posts in the Ladakh region of the northern Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.

A group of Chinese troops on heavy and light vehicles stopped the Indian army from patrolling in the region Sunday, according to the Press Trust of India.

The incident came in response to India's launch of its patrol "Tiranga" from Trade Junction area in north Ladakh for two posts located 14 km up in the higher reaches along the line of actual control (LAC).

The Chinese troops aggressively approached the Indian army team and asked it to leave by showing a banner, which read that they were in Chinese territory and could not proceed to the posts, sources told PTI.

China, on other hand, has erected an observation post at the border in the region, which keeps vigil on the movements of the Indian troops and whenever an Indian patrol party is ready to leave, they are being intercepted midway and sent back, sources said.

Indian troops are waiting for an upcoming border personnel meeting in the region between the sides to raise the issue with the Chinese army delegation.

In recent months, tensions have escalated over the border incursions by the Chinese troops into the Indian territories.

Following the incursions, New Delhi and Beijing met several times in a bid to end the face off over the disputed border areas.

A team of People's Liberation Army of China will visit India this month to finalize plans for a joint military exercise that will be held later this year.

The PLA team will visit the headquarters of the Indian Army's Eastern Command in Kolkata and if the two sides carry out the exercise as planned, it would be the first joint exercise between the two sides in the last five years.

Chinese incursions in recent months have forced the New Delhi government to deploy around 40,000 additional soldiers along the Indo-Tibetan border to counter Beijing's military strength.

China, in recent years has not only increased its military strength at the border but has also built several airports in Tibet along with a railway line from China to Tibet, which gives Beijing easy access to the border area.
