Sofia Vergara has full confidence in the law that will block her ex-fiance, Nick Loeb, from bringing to term the embryos they had frozen before breaking off their engagement.

"What judge is going to say okay?" Vergara told Howard Stern on his SiriusXM radio show on Monday. "Even if it's life or not life, that's not what he signed!"

The "Modern Family" star and Loeb split in May 2014, but two of their frozen female embryos remain intact. He filed a lawsuit against his ex last month to prevent her from destroying the embryos, so he could possibly have a surrogate bring them to turn.

Vergara strongly opposes this option. She argues that no child should be brought into this world amongst feuding parents.

"A kid needs parents. I wouldn't imagine anyone saying it's sane to bring [into] the world kids that are already set up [with] everything wrong for them. It would be so selfish," said the 42-year-old actress, who already has a 22-year-old son.

Stern brought up the subject following Loeb's op-ed in The New York Times last week. Vergara sympathizes with Loeb, but cites the legal papers they signed together that should keep the embryos on ice for the foreseeable future.

"I totally understand him," she said. "Fortunately or unfortunately, there is law. You signed legal papers. If it was serious for him, the issue - which I totally respect is for someone - he should have taken it more seriously. There is a contract."

She added, "Suddenly now you want to change your mind?"

Despite the court dealings, Vergara sees it as Loeb's problem and not hers.

"I'm not going through anything. He's going through it," she told the shock jock about Loeb. "I don't hate him but obviously he has a problem with me."

Instead, she's focusing on planning her wedding with current fiancé, Joe Manganiello. They tend to avoid the subject around the house.

"We try not to even talk about it," Vergara said. "We have lawyers. We're having so much fun right now, moving to our new house... we're planning our wedding. We try not to think about this."
