When Kris Jenner first learned that her now ex-husband Bruce Jenner was transgender she apparently thought she could "fix" him.

A source close to the Jenner family told People magazine that Kris knew about Bruce's secret struggle with his gender identity, but was still "rocked" three months ago when she learned that he was ready to transition to a female.

"She knew that he struggled with gender identity," the insider told People. "She knew he had been on hormones and that his body had changed."

In Bruce's interview with Diane Sawyer he revealed that when he met Kris he was already taking estrogen for five years, which resulted in him growing 36B breasts.

She also reportedly knew about his sugeries and love for cross-dressing.

The source said Kris just didn't understand the concept of Bruce's gender identity issue. They said Kris "never knew Bruce wanted to be a woman. She thought Bruce had a little quirk and he asked her to keep it a secret, so she did."

"Before Kris and Bruce got married, Kris assured his ex-wives that she knew about 'the issue,' " the Jenner insider added in an interview with People. "She wanted them to know that she thought it was just a phase and that she could 'fix' him."

Since Bruce's 20/20 interview with Diane Sawyer last week, the former Olympian is receiving support from his other two ex-wives Linda Thompson and Chrystie Crownover Scott.

Thompson wrote an in-depth blog for Huffington Post about her relationship with Bruce and her support for his transition. Scott also showed her support in a recent interview with Good Morning America
