The 23-year-old woman who had been exchanging flirtatious messages with New York Mayoral candidate and former congressman Anthony Weiner revealed details about their online relationship in an interview with "Inside Edition," according to the Huffington Post.

Sydney Leathers shared screenshots of conversations between her and Weiner with online gossip site The Dirty earlier this week with her name and image blurred so that she could remain anonymous. Within hours of the website posting the chats BuzzFeed discovered Leathers' identity.

While serving as a congressman Weiner tweeted inappropriate pictures of himself to women; the ensuing scandal forced Weiner into resigning from Congress. In the interview with "Inside Edition" Leathers says that Weiner should not be seen as a victim.

"Anthony Weiner is responsible for his downfall," Leathers said. "I feel sick about it. I'm disgusted by him. He is not who I thought he was."

In the interview with Jim Moret Leathers explained that her relationship with Weiner began on Facebook after Leathers criticized his behavior on Weiner's page. Leathers said that it didn't take long for their relationship to turn sexual and that it was Weiner who initiated it, according to the Los Angeles Times.

During their relationship Leathers and Weiner would have phone sex at least twice a week. Weiner would also get jealous when he saw that other men were interested in Leathers via her Facebook.

"Me being hit on by other men really upset him," Leathers said. "We were Facebook friends, so he could see if men were commenting on photos of me, or telling me that I was pretty. Really minor things like that really bothered him."

In the interview Leathers also admits that she told Weiner she loved him and that he also said that he loved her, according to the Boston Globe.

Since the scandal broke Weiner's wife, Huma Abedin, has stood alongside her husband and supported him. Leathers admits in the interview that she should have thought about Abedin before engaging in the relationship.

"I just feel very, very sorry for my part and the pain that she obviously feels," Leathers said.
