It turns out that Hillary Clinton's largest Facebook fan base resides in one of the most unlikely cities: Baghdad.

An analysis of Clinton's Facebook page by Vocativ found that 7 percent of her fans listed the Iraqi capital as their hometown, significantly more than any other city in the world. Southerners were also more likely to be a fan than people living on America's coasts, the website reported.

Clinton's hometown of Chicago, along with New York City, where her campaign headquarters is located, had the next largest fan bases, both with 4 percent. Los Angeles is home to 3 percent of fans, and Atlanta and Philadelphia each had 2 percent.

But the historically conservative state of Texas contained more of her supporters, noted Vocativ, writing, "Texas' four major centers - Houston (3 percent), Dallas (3 percent), Austin (2 percent) and San Antonio (2 percent) - contain more of her Facebook supporters." By comparing a town's population to percentage of Hillary's likes, Vocativ determined that people living in Texas, Kentucky, Ohio, Arkansas, North Carolina and Wisconsin were more likely to be Hillary Facebook fans than all other U.S. residents.

While she appears to be quite unpopular amongst younger Americans, with female fans between the ages of 18 and 34 totaling only 8 percent, and male fans at 11 percent, the opposite is true in Baghdad, where 66 percent of fans are female and 67 percent are male in the 18-34 age bracket.

The majority of Clinton's American fans are older than 55, Vocativ found, including 66 percent of women and 52 percent of her male supporters.

Fourteen percent of Clinton's global fans said they work for various governments.

Since setting up her first official Facebook page on Sunday, Clinton has gathered more than 665,000 likes.
