She’s 63-years old, has white hair and wears huge glasses—but Mary Hvizda can jam with the best of them.

Hvizda has taken the web by storm and become a YouTube sensation in just a few days, according to the Associated Press.

Hvizda, although she has no grandchildren, stars in a video posted by Coalition Drum Shop entitled “Grandma Drummer.” The video of her rocking the drums has already reached more than 2,000,000 million views.

"I guess I just wanted to play music and have fun," she said. "Thank you for making me feel important."

At age 15 Hvzida began to play the drums after getting inspiration from her brother. Since then, she has played in almost a dozen bands and was part of an exclusively female rock group. According to Hvzida, the group, called the “Chantelles,” acted as a pioneer in a predominantly male business.

"It really took a lot of tolerance with the customers, or other male musicians, to hang in there and to just keep going if they laughed at us or made fun of us," she explained.

Hvizda’s career came to a close after the band “On the Road Again” broke up in 1990. She even sold her last drum after they split.

Hvzida may be officially retired but that hasn’t stopped her from visiting the store to keep her drumming skills fresh. In addition to her public jam sessions, she also listens to her old cassettes to get a reminder of what she did in her prime.

Hvzida is extremely happy people so many people want to see her play. Until Monday, she wasn’t familiar with YouTube. However, as of this article, the video has 2,550,470 views.

"I was having a lot of fun," she said. "I really was."
