A new mobile volunteer app called Team Red Cross was recently launched to give people an easier way to extend help during emergencies and also learn valuable skills in giving an emergency response. Through this app, users can sign up to volunteer, get the gist of the basic tasks required, receive alerts and notifications whenever an opportunity to volunteer comes up, and earn badges as reward for every skill they have acquired.

It is but natural for every person to offer help every time an emergency occurs in his community. However, most of them don’t have an idea on how they can even start giving one.

The Team Red Cross app will somehow make it easier and faster for people to enter their names as the first step needed if they want to help the Red Cross and show their support in the community.

The free app is designed to be compatible to both iPhone and Android mobile phones and tablets. It is now searchable in the Apple app store and in Google play store. Users can also download the app from the American Red Cross Mobile Apps.

Users can log in to their social network account and learn volunteering basics needed during an emergency. Other things that they can learn include giving money donations to the Red Cross, signing up for the blood donation program, and getting emergency response information which they can easily share with family and friends. Moreover, users of the Team Red Cross app can earn digitally-designed badges after finishing job tests, accepting and accomplishing tasks, sharing apps, and encouraging new volunteers to join the group. The earned badges can likewise be shared through various social networking sites.

So far, the Team Red Cross app is the seventh app released that is added to the Red Cross series of apps. The apps are now present in more than three million mobile phones all over the country. Almost one fifth of people from the US admitted that they have received emergency notification from an app which they have downloaded.
