The NFL free agency pursuit of defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh is expected to be hard and fast, with a number of teams throwing their hats into the ring but only one NFL franchise ultimately able to claim victory.

According to the latest report, from Rand Getlin of Yahoo! Sports, Suh's two main suitors on the NFL free agent market will be the Miami Dolphins and the Indianapolis Colts.

"The Miami Dolphins and Indianapolis Colts are expected to make the strongest pushes for impending free-agent defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh when the early negotiating window opens on Saturday, multiple league sources told Yahoo Sports," Getlin wrote.

Sources also revealed to Getlin that the guarantees in Suh's contract are expected to meet or exceed $60 million - an astounding figure, even for a player of Suh's prodigious physical gifts and menacing, terrorizing attitude.

The Dolphins, per Getlin, are in the lead to sign Suh at the moment. That's not the first time we've heard such a statement.

Mid-afternoon Wednesday, Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel tweeted that, "Word on the street regarding Suh is that when Steve Ross is involved you better be prepared to big high. Teams think Suh to Miami is done."

The Dolphins are expected to - or already have been, depending on your levels of cynicism concerning NFL free agency and the league's tampering policies - push the notion of state income tax, or the lack thereof, in Florida.

They are the only team expected to most heavily pursue Suh who can make such a claim.

Suh finished last season for the Lions with 8.5 sacks, 46 tackles and his third first-team All-Pro selection.

The Dolphins currently have Randy Starks, Jared Odrick and Earl Mitchell on the roster along the defensive line.

Suh is a massive upgrade over all three, even Odrick, a pending unrestricted free agent who has developed into a very good interior defensive lineman for coach Joe Philbin's group.
