The Minnesota Wild didn't just acquire a veteran defenseman on Monday when they traded for Jordan Leopold, formerly of the Columbus Blue Jackets - they also got a dad.

A dad who was, apparently, very lonely this season without his family in Columbus.

Jordan's 11-year-old daughter, Jordyn, according to KFAN.com, penned a letter to the Minnesota Wild front office earlier this season pleading with the franchise to somehow acquire her dad.

You can check it out here.

"Well, my dad is very lonely without his family," Jordyn writes, matter-of-factly. "We are living in Minnesota right now and I am lost without my dad and so is my mom, my 2 sisters and my brother."

The Wild acquired Leopold today from the Blue Jackets in exchange for a fifth-round pick in the 2015 NHL Draft and Justin Falk.

"It has been since November and we can not take it any more," Jordyn reveals. "To get to the point, the Wild have not been winning games and you lovely coaches are most likely mad about that but your team needs some more D men so can you please, please, please ask the Jackets if you guys can get him?!"

Here's to hoping little Jordyn - and hey, big Jordan too - is now plenty happy.
