Quake Entertainment's "DOOM" was one of the first big shooters that opened doors to our modern "Call-of-Duty"-obsessed game world.

After 22 years of play, the game has also been modified and changed in so many ways by players and hackers that it's hard to believe people can still find entertainment in the demonic first-person shooter. However, a recent mod revealed that people are still interested in this game and in using it in the weirdest ways.

Kotaku reported that players had created a mod for "DOOM" that would let players take selfies in its world. The mod is a free download titled "InstaDOOM," and is available on mod-hosting site DOOMworld.

The mod lets players add one of 37 different Instagrams to their gameplay. This includes Ashby, LoFi and Valencia among others. Players can then rush through the first level to where the chainsaw is stored. But they won't find a chainsaw; they'll find a selfie stick. Players can then use the stick to snap a pic of Doomguy, the unnamed protagonist of the first game in any location. Players will still be able to acquire the chainsaw at a later moment, but it was switched with the BFG.

"DOOM" isn't the first game to add selfie-taking abilities to a game. "Grand Theft Auto V" had the feature first, where players could use the in-game phone to snap a picture of themselves as they complete heists, explore the city and fight cops. "World of Warcraft's" latest patch also added an in-game toy called the "S.E.L.F.I.E. Camera" that lets players snap pics of their in-game character in any environment they like.
