Gorillaz will release new music soon following a four-year hiatus for the virtual band.

Illustrator and co-creator Jamie Hewlett confirmed the comeback on Friday via his Instagram account. Hewlett posted new drawings of Murdoch and Noodles, two of the group's virtual members.

"Yes. Gorillaz returns," he responded to one Instagram follower asking about the photos' significance.
