"Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" is a film I'm cautiously optimistic about. I'd didn't love or hate "Man of Steel," and Zack Synder's work is very hit or miss for me on the whole. Regardless of what I think, the movie is going to make a ton of cash because it's the first time that we will see these comic book legends up on the big screen working and/or fighting together.

Henry Cavill News has dug up two recent interviews (from The Daily Mail and The Anglophile Channel, respectively) with the Last Son of Krypton himself, Henry Cavill, in which he discussed the upcoming film, his counterpart, Ben Affleck, and his ongoing plans for the role of Superman.

"It's Zack Snyder, so it's going to be a visual spectacle and it's cinematic history," Cavill commented. "We're doing Batman and we're doing Superman, and it's all happening at the same time. So, fingers crossed it turns out to be as exciting as I think it is."

When asked if he had any advice for Affleck about suiting up as Batman, Cavill said: "Right. We're talking about Ben Affleck here. I don't need to give him any advice. The guy's a legend. He does his own thing! He's great. He's fantastic."

The actor then discussed his long-term plans for Superman and made it very clear that he hopes to play the character for the foreseeable future, saying, "I love the character. I love working with Warner Bros. and what they're doing with it, and so fingers crossed I'll be able to tell the story for many, many years to come."

Cavill is an excellent Superman, so as far as I am concerned he can play him for as long as his heart desires. It will be most intriguing to see how DC and Warner Bros. use Superman/Cavill as they attempt to build their cinematic universe. Will Superman just make guest/cameo appearances in other films? Or will they build entire films around him...like the upcoming "Justice League?"

Only time will tell, of course.
