Samsung and Sony took the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas as an opportunity to unveil new audio products that aim to provide a new kind of experience for listening to your favorite songs.

Among these devices is Samsung's egg-shaped wireless speakers called the WAM 7500 and WAM 6500, which are designed to project music in 360 degrees rather than just in one direction, according to Investors.com. One of the speakers is portable, so users will be able to carry it around with them wherever they go.

Sony's new 360-degree speakers include the LED Bulb Speaker, which comes as an integration between a Bluetooth speaker and an LED light bulb, and the Symphonic Light Speaker concept, which combines an omni-directional speaker with a table-top light.

Tom Krajewski, spokesman for the Japanese company, said the Symphonic Light Speaker projects light and music that can instantly change the mood of the room you're in, which makes it the perfect gadget for lightening up the mood at parties or other kinds of get-togethers.

"This innovative product allows your favorite music to flow from a beautiful lamp fixture," Kazuo Hirai, CEO of Sony, said at a press conference. "The sound radiates outward in all directions and it differentiates it from a more traditional speaker, which is best obviously when you're in front of it."

Prices for Samsung and Sony's new audio products have yet to be announced. Sony plans on releasing its LED Bulb Speaker in the spring, but a release date for the Symphonic Light Speaker has yet to be revealed.
