Saudi multi-billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin Talal is looking forward to building a mile-high skyscraper, which would be the world's tallest building by far, and has considered world's largest cities including Shanghai, Moscow, London and New York as potential locations for the record-breaking edifice.

Saudi multi-billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin Talal wants to build a mile-high skyscraper, the world's tallest, and is looking for a possible location for his sky-high dream. Talal's list of possible destinations for the building includes Shanghai, Moscow, London and New York. Prince Talal wants to offer the title of the world's tallest building to a different city other than the home of Burj Khalifa, currently the tallest man-made building standing high at 2,722 ft.

Prince Talal will be accompanied by Dubai's biggest real estate developer Emaar Properties, chaired by Mohammed Alabbar, along with his investment company, Kingdom Holding, in bringing the huge project to a success.

"Right now we are discussing and evaluating the possibility of building a one-mile (1.6-kilometre) tower," Alwaleed told Reuters by telephone late on Monday. "We also need good partners. I invite Emaar and Mr. Alabbar to join forces with us and see how we can build the ultimate one-mile tower somewhere in the world."

The Kingdom Holding, the  world's most successful investment holding companies, is in the process of building the world's tallest tower, which will be a kilometer or 0.6 mile high, in Jedda, Saudi Arabia, reports NBC News. The 0.6 mile-high Kingdom Tower is expected to be completed by 2017 with an approximate cost of $1.2 billion, according to Kingdom Holding executive director Talal Al Maiman.

Prince Talal said that cities interested in the project will have to offer attractive options like tax breaks and other support.
