I have to say, just when I think I'm done with internet, and I'm sure that all of the people who populate various sites and message boards are ignorant trolls who aren't worth my time, someone does something really cool like this and it forces me to re-think my point of view.

This suitably epic Marvel vs. DC crossover short was edited and presented by one Alex Luthor. I'm going to guess that he is no relation to ol' Lex...but I could be wrong on that point. Check out his fantastic work below:

In the comics, Marvel and DC characters (or at least in some cases their alternate dimension equivalents) have crossed paths on several occasions. There was 1982's Teen Titans and X-Men crossover that was written by Chris Claremont and illustrated by Walt Simonson. There was also the troubled JLA/Avengers crossover that began in the 80s, but didn't see the light of day until the early 2000s.Those books were written by Kurt Busiek and drawn by George Perez.

Beyond that, in 1996 the limited series "DC vs. Marvel" also saw the light of day on comic book store shelves. Written by Ron Marz and Peter David, the event beheld comics biggest icons battle it out to save their respective universes.

The crossover also witnessed the birth of the Amalgam Universe which was populated by merged versions of many of the heroes such as Dark Claw (a combo of Wolverine and Batman) and Amazon (a combo of Storm and Wonder Woman).

Nearly two decades later, the outcomes of those battles are still the subject of much debate and conjecture among comic book fanboys and girls. Thanks to The Daily Dot for the heads up.
