If you still have questions about "The Affair's" crazy, insane and shocking season finale, fear not because creator Sarah Treem is here to answer your questions. Following Sunday's episode, Treem spoke with E! Online to tie-up some loose ends from the first season and tease what's ahead.

Warning: Contains spoilers from Sunday's season finale.

Well, it wasn't revealed how Scotty (Colin Donnell) died but someone did get arrested: Noah (Dominic West). Yup, while Noah and Alison (Ruth Wilson) were putting their (maybe) daughter to bed in their New York City apartment, Detective Jeffries comes and handcuffs Noah.

Just one quick note about Detective Jeffries: it was revealed during the finale that he's gay and was lying to Alison and Noah the entire time. We can't wait to see how that plays into next season. Anyway, at the end of the episode Alison promises Noah that she's going to help him get out of jail.

So what can fans look forward to when "The Affair" returns? Check out Treem's comments below.

Season 2 will answer a lot of big questions:

"In my mind, in terms of what the truth of the crime itself is at the end, I think we need to and we are going to see that and understand what happened there objectively," she said. "In instances like that, where there is crime or something, where it's not basically the emotional interaction between two people... that to me is the one moment where I actually want to know the truth. That's the moment I'm pretty sure we will see objectively, but I think the way that we get there is going to be a bit of a puzzle, so when the audience arrives at it, they will discover it for themselves."

There won't be a big time jump:

"Season two in the past will pick up very quickly after season one ends," Treem said. "We have more to go in terms of the story before the past catches up to the present."

Detective Jeffries still can't prove Noah (supposedly) killed Scotty:

"If you think about the evidence the detective is arresting Noah on, he doesn't actually have that much to go on," she told E!. "So he needs more. It's circumstantial, what he's arresting Noah on right now. It's not conclusive. We're going to watch that detective do more work to figure out what actually happened."

Season 2 could include new narratives besides Alison and Noah's:

"I hope we'll be seeing Helen and Cole's [narratives]," she said. "It's still very much theoretical, but that's the idea in my head at this point."
