Dish Network subscribers cannot access Fox News or the Fox Business Channel Sunday due to failed contract negotiations between the two companies.

Dish's contract with the network expired Sunday, Dec. 21 before it could be renewed, International Business Times reported

Dish replaced Fox News with the cable channel The Blaze, owned by Glenn Beck. They also replaced Fox Business channel with CNBC.

Fox News has never been banned from a television distributor. However, Dish blocked CNN and some Turner Broadcasting channels for one month and CBS for 12 hours due to contract negotiations.

"Dish prematurely ceased distribution of Fox News in an attempt to intimidate and sway our negotiations," said Tim Carry, Fox News executive vice president for distribution.

Fox News encouraged its viewers to drop their Dish subscriptions after 14 million Dish viewers lost access to their channels, according to Bloomberg.

Fox News created a website, keepfoxnews.com, that allows visitors to type in their zip code and find other pay-TV plans.

The site has sparked responses in the form of 22,000 emails and 7,000 phone calls demanding for Dish to put Fox News back on its service, Carry said.

Fox News attracts an average nightly audience of 1.86 million people, according to a Nielsen report.
