Nicki Minaj's ex-boyfriend Safaree Samuels is reportedly not handling the split very well. The couple called it quits recently after 12 years of dating. According to TMZ, Samuels has been telling friends that he's an emotional wreck and reportedly talked about suicide.

Sources close to Samuels said he spends a lot of time in the house smoking marijuana. Reportedly, he also has beef with rapper Meek Mills because he thinks he planted false stories in Minaj's head accusing Samuels of cheating.

According to TMZ, Samuels' friends are begging him to get help but he's been complaining that the medicine he's taking is making him even more emotional.

"music biz is really led by the devil... so much evil and spite involved that regular ppl would never even think about. I was definitely happier in life b4 all of dis public attention n so called notoriety. Now I understand how n**as leave n vanish from it all," he tweeted on Dec. 12. "it ruins and breaks relationships that were once made of gold. Everything is done for attention for a few days then its on to the next 1. Cheating was never the issue. Ppl grow apart and it is what it is... and that's all ill say about that... a lot can happen and change in 12 yrs."

Earlier this week Minaj stopped by Power 105.1 to talk to Angie Martinez about her new album but she also opened up about her split. At one point, Martinez went to a break because the "Pills N Potions" rapper got so emotional.

I wasn't broken up when I was writing those songs. A song is like an argument frozen in time. So sometimes in an argument you say things that aren't necessarily even going to lead to a breakup or it's not when you broke up. Don't you realize when you break up, you say the same things you said six months ago. But all of it came from a place of love because every single thing- my relationship was based off of love. And there is still nothing but love there. It really is the truth. This is not some person I picked off the street. This is somebody I grew up with. like I don't even know how I'm gonna function without that person in my life. I've never lived my life as a famous person without him.

I tell my girlfriends, my best friends, but sometimes I still wanna tell him stuff and get his opinion because...

After a short break Minaj continued.

That was a humongous part of my life... This is a different thing. This is a lifetime. People are married and have three children in this amount of time. So this is different. This is real deal and it is something that I am dealing with publicly. And it's not easy.... If I wasn't a rapper we would be- we would have children, be married and be living happily ever after. And that's what sad. That's what we're both sad about because we know this shit is what did it.
