With all the "Star Wars"-related hype today, I thought it would be interesting to take a stroll down memory lane to watch Mark Hamill outline his appearance in next year's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" back in 1983. Thanks to the Guardian for the tip.

A British TV interview has surfaced on YouTube in which Hamill, then aged 32, talks about a conversation he had with "Star Wars" mastermind George Lucas.

"He, at one time, asked me, would you consider playing an Obi-Wan type character handing down Excalibur to the next generation?" he said. Hamill then goes into a spot-on George Lucas impression, guessing that the film would come out "around 2011."

A trailer for 2015's "The Force Awakens" was released earlier today. The film is set around 30 years after the events that took place in "Return of the Jedi," and features original cast members as well as a new generation.

Luke Skywalker's actual role in the new movie is still unknown at this time. Hamill was involved in filming scenes in Ireland in the summer, alongside Daisy Ridley, who plays a lead character.

The new flick is slated to release in December 2015. Check out the interesting part of the interview with Hamill below:
