Videos have been surfacing of people being zapped by a field of static electricity outside of Google's London office.

Some Reddit users have argued the original video of the mysterious phenomenon is fake, but multiple original posts have now been made showing people with their hair standing on end. The videos also contain a distinctive buzzing noise, Business Insider reported.

Google has not yet made a statement on the source of the static electricity, but some theories include faulty wires beneath the street or a mesh of metal polls included in Google HQ's building design.

The original video that caught the public's attention was posted by Reddit user "master_poop." Since then a Youtube video, taken back in September, has surfaced and reveals a user in the exact same location whose hair is standing on end. A third video of the static spot has also been brought to light, Business Insider reported.

Earlier today workmen were spotted outside of Google's office in the same spot where the static electricity had been experienced. The U.K. Power Network even tweeted "@Alby Hi We have been on site and investigated and can confirm the area is safe."

After posting the video "master_poop" claimed both people seen in his video later suffered from toothaches and a small nosebleed.

The user, who has been revealed as Simon Legrand by the Telegraph, said they were walking by the building when they experienced a "strong electric field."

"Initially it didn't hurt us, just surprised us. Then it seemed to intensify and my phone started crackling and the video cut. My friend got a strong electric shock from holding my phone up high," Simon later wrote online.
