CBS ended "The Millers" second season short as the network made its first official cancellations of the 2014 fall TV season.

The sitcom, starring Will Arnett, Margo Martindale and Beau Bridges, received a surprising renewal at the end of its first season. CBS paired "The Millers" with the weaker lead-in, "2 Broke Girls," on Mondays compared to last year with "The Big Bang Theory" on Thursdays.

"The Millers" has aired three episodes so far this season and is scheduled to air in its regular time-slot on Monday, Nov. 17. Production will film one more episode before shutting down.

CBS has yet to air the Melissa McCarthy comedy "Mike & Molly." It will either slide into "The Millers'" Monday slot or switch places with "Mom" on Thursdays.

Sean Hayes joined the cast of "The Millers" for the second season. Martindale and Bridges played the divorcing parents of the newly single Arnett.

The new comedy "The McCarthys" also slipped to a new ratings low in its most recent airing on Thursday night. CBS did order two more scripts for the sitcoms.

"The Millers" becomes the fourth cancelled comedy series this fall after ABC's "Selfie" and "Manhattan Love Story" as well as NBC's "Bad Judge" and "A to Z." Fox also cut the order for its freshman series "Mulaney."
