Verizon Wireless is in the giving spirit as it gets ready to offer free gifts on the day before Thanksgiving.

The freebies are scheduled to be made available to consumers on Nov. 26, which the carrier is calling "Connection Day" with the theme of connecting people to what they watch on their smartphones, according to CNET. The offer will take place two days before Black Friday, the first day (unofficially) of the holiday shopping season.

The bundle not only serves as a way for Verizon to take advantage of the holiday season, but to also keep up with other carriers that are offering lower prices and higher amounts of data to stay ahead of rivals.

Among the freebies are a selection of 10 free Amazon apps, Audible book downloads, and access to TV shows and movies through Verizon's FiOS Preview app, Engadget reported.

Special offers will be available for certain customers, such Verizon Wireless "More Everything" subscribers, who will be able to get 1GB of sharable data and an extra 1GB for their next billing cycle.

Current Audible members will receive a $10 credit when they get their free books, CNET reported. Other freebies include digital edition downloads of 17 Conde Nast books (include Vanity Fair and Wired) and a 3-minute Wi-Fi session at airports through Boingo Wireless and in-flight through Gogo Technologies. Apple is also scheduled to reveal a special iTunes offer on Connection Day.

You will also be to get free in-flight Wi-Fi on JetBlue from Nov. 26 to Dec. 24, as well as a free seven-day trial of the Pandora One premium subscription music service.
