Popular third party keyboard app, Swype for iOS, is going free for a limited time with newly added features like iPad support, better emoji support and more.

In a pool of third party keyboards for iOS,  Swype is a welcome addition for  iPhone and iPad users. Being selected as Apple's latest free App of the Week, users can download the keyboard app without paying $0.99. Apple device users can also take advantage of the newly launched features, which were added to the app in an update three days ago. Swype app for iOS devices supports multiple languages, themes, emoji characters, and most importantly works by just swiping the fingers on the keyboard to form words.

Swype was well-received by its users and appreciated in a review by CNET, The New York Times and other publications. On Tuesday, the app received a major update to include support for 16 new languages, improved iPad optimization, better support for Emoji in six new languages, customizable layouts and automatic spacing between words, according to the change-log details on Apple App Store.

Swype supports all major languages including Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, UK English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Irish, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish Swedish, Turkish and Hinglish, which is a hybrid of Hindi and English. The app supports QWERTY, QWERTZ and AZERTY layouts on the iPhone and iPad to suit one's own preference.

Swype also offers sound on keypress option but requires full access to iPhone and iPad. Otherwise, the third party keyboard is one of the few apps that do not require full access to the device. Swype competes with third party keyboard apps like SwiftKey, Flesky and others.

Swype is a universal app designed for iPhone, iPod touch, iPad and iPad mini. It can be downloaded from iTunes for free for a limited time only.
