Katy Perry planned a multi-country extravaganza for her 30th birthday, but one country proved a little unstable to venture into at this time.

Perry canceled her trip to Egypt where she planned to ring in the big 3-0 on Oct. 25, according to E! News. The political instability of the country forced Perry to detour her festivities.

The "Birthday" singer had planned on "taking a cruise on the Nile River in Egypt and dressing up like Cleopatra," sources told E! News. Her trips also included stops in Morocco, South Africa and Paris, and it's not clear whether she will continue on to those destinations.

Perry loves everything Egyptian, and made the ancient civilization the theme of her "Dark Horse" music video. She also refers herself as "Katy Pätra" in the video.

Her birthday celebration hasn't been a total wash out. Shakey's Pizza Parlor wished Perry a "Happy Birthday" on the restaurant marquee.

The "Firework" singer first tweeted her wish for a birthday message saying, "All I want for my birthday is my name on the Shakey's Pizza marquee." She then tweeted her appreciation in an Instagram post that she was "kicking off my birthday week right."

Perry will return to her Prismatic world tour on Nov. 7 as she kicks off the Australia-New Zealand leg of the tour. After the holidays, she'll start the European tour on Feb. 16 and wrap up the tour in Stockholm on March 22.

The North American leg earned the songstress $31 million.
