If the adage that "money talks" is true, then it seems like it's talking awfully loudly about Russell Wilson.

The Seattle Seahawks' quarterback and reigning Super Bowl MVP has the best-selling jersey in the NFL, Pro Football Talk reported.

Wilson's jerseys and t-shirts have outsold the apparel of all other players in the fiscal quarter of June 1 to August 31. Wilson knocked Johnny Manziel out of the top spot after his jersey was the hot purchase following his first round selection by the Cleveland Browns in the NFL draft.

Following Wilson, the next top-selling jerseys belonged to Peyton Manning, Colin Kaepernick, Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers. Dallas Cowboys' receiver Dez Bryant came in at No. 6, while Johnny Football dropped to No. 7. J.J. Watt, the highest-ranking defensive player, was No. 10.

Chicago Bears' receiver Brandon Marshall, however, made the biggest leap. His jersey sales increased from No. 31 to No. 13.

Despite Seattle's loss to Dallas this weekend, Wilson is enjoying one of the best statistical seasons of his career. The fourth year quarterback is completing 66% of his passes - a career high - for 978 yards, eight touchdowns and only two interceptions through five games. Wilson has also rushed for 221 yards and two touchdowns on a 7.1 yards per carry average.

But Wilson still has some catching up to do in other merchandise races. Peyton Manning sold the most Fatheads in the last quarter, while Eddie Lacy sold the most bobbleheads.
