Tim Tebow is still the talk of the NFL offseason  ̶  even without a team.  In the days following a scathing ESPN article, both the former New York jets general manager and Tebow's dad weighed in on the free agent.

"I would never bet against him," former Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum told reporters.  "I don't know if he's done.  I don't know if that report [that says he is] is true.  But Tim has always been successful, and I'm sure whatever he wants to do, he'll work hard.  Sometimes it takes guys awhile, and with Tim's resourcefulness I would never bet against him."

Tannenbaum, who now works with the sports agency Priority Sports and Entertainment, made the move for Tebow in 2012.  The deal never worked out, and Tannenbaum ultimately lost his job with the Jets after last season.

"Obviously, it's a trade that didn't work out," Tannenbaum said, "but when we did it we felt he could enhance our offense."

Tebow, who the Jets released in April, remains a free agent.  His father spoke to NFL.com's Ian Rapaport after the ESPN article was published.  Despite the article saying people in Tebow's camp don't believe the quarterback will ever play in the NFL again, Tebow's dad is optimistic.

"You are old enough to not believe all you hear," Tebow's father told Rapoport.

Don't expect any comments from Tebow himself.  A source close to the 25-year-old told USA Today that Tebow is keeping a low profile.  Staying off the radar could help him find another job in the NFL, where teams are hesitant to sign him because of the "media circus" that follows him.
