WARNING: Contains spoilers for FOX's "Gotham."

David Mazouz (young Bruce Wayne) previously told TV Fanatic that there will be a case in every episode. The premiere episode opens with Bruce's mom and dad being murdered.

"I think that case will drag out throughout the season, and maybe throughout the series, but no one really knows," Mazouz told TV Fanatic. "I don't know. It's not really solved in the pilot, and you'll see more of it throughout the show."

The death of his parents, really hits young Bruce hard. Mazouz said his character soon develops an obsession to try and find a meaning into their murder.

"You will see him experience different things and go through stages of the grieving process in his unique sort of way," he said. "I'd say in the second episode he starts to create an obsession... He just wants to find some reason behind this terrible tragedy."

"He has post-traumatic stress disorder and he's scared, lonely, angry at the world, and he takes some of that anger out on Alfred (Sean Pertwee)," he continued.

Ben McKenzie, who plays detective James Gordon, had previously said that fans will see the city of Gotham falling apart. There will be a lot of crime and Gordon is desperate to turn things around.

"James, who grew up in the city but then left when his father died, comes at it from the tried-and-true device but [with] fresh eyes," McKenzie said, according to SpoilersGuide.com. "He served overseas; he was in a war. And he comes back and he's got a real moral rigidity to him, which is tested immediately and tested deeply."

Cory Michael Smith, who plays The Riddler, teased that his character - just like in the comics - is a genius and is well aware that "he's the smartest person in the room" but often gets frustrated.

"We'll see him start to get more leeway and his superiors will start to recognize his genius in giving him other responsibilities," Smith said. "I think Ed [Nygma] just wants to be a part of stuff. He wants show off his knowledge. He wants to help. He has answers. And he has answers before everyone else."

Smith also said that his character gets really fascinated with all the "crazy crimes [that] are happening in Gotham."
