It's a girl for actress Eva Mendes and her longtime love Ryan Gosling. According to US Weekly, the couple welcomed a baby girl on Friday, Sept. 12. The first-time-parents have not revealed their daughter's name or any other information, which isn't surprising since Mendes' pregnancy was a well-kept secret.

News of her pregnancy first broke back in July with reports claiming that the "Hitch" actress was already seven months along.

"She's been ready for motherhood for a while now," a source told OK! Magazine at the time. "And to be sharing this experience with Ryan is a dream come true for her."

Once news of the pregnancy broke, Mendes kept a low profile and went to great lengths to hide her belly from photographers. A few months ago she was spotted at a parking lot in Los Angeles and kept her baby bump hidden under an orange Birkin bag, scarves and sweaters.

According to US Weekly, her last public appearance was in February at a Violet Grey dinner honoring the late Elizabeth Taylor. Earlier that month, the "Training Day" actress made an appearance on the "Ellen DeGeneres Show" and denied that she and Gosling were expecting a baby.

"It all started because I didn't want to go through the scanners at the airport," Mendes said. "You know those X-ray scanners, which are really creepy? They basically see you naked. And not only that, but there's a radiation aspect to it. So I always opt out. I always ask for a personal pat-down. That was good enough reason [for people to think I'm pregnant]."

A source told US Weekly that Gosling was the doting boyfriend throughout Mendes' pregnancy and would go "out and get the groceries."

"[Eva's] been wanting pasta, and he's cooking her meals. Ryan has already stepped into the role of caring father-to-be," the source said.
