Amazon continues to make additions to its Fire TV media-streaming box, adding support Monday for on-demand music service Spotify.

The addition brings Spotify's 20 million songs and 10 million premium subscribers to Fire TV, according CNET.

Spotify announced in a blog post that the expansion will be available for premium U.S. members, and that they can use the Spotify Connect feature to control Spotify on Amazon Fire TV with mobile phones and tablets. With the Fire TV set-top box, members can use the Spotify app to control music and easily switch their favorite songs from mobile devices to the TV.

Fire TV was introduced in April for Amazon to compete with set-top boxes from Apple TV, Roku and Chromecast, which currently hold the top spot in the market, CNET reported.

The expansion allows other capabilities with the app, such as switching the music to the Fire TV when you need to make a phone call so that you don't interrupt the music that's playing, Digital Trends reported. Spotify Connect lets users walk around with their smartphones to make calls, use other apps, and even walk out of Wi-Fi range without stopping the flow of songs.

The new feature is only available to members with a $10-per-month premium subscription. However, Spotify is letting non-premium subscribers try out Spotify Premium with a 30-day free trial.
