It's been nearly 20 years since "Married with Children" signed off the air - but a spinoff could change everything.

E! News reported that Sony Pictures Television is developing a "Married...With Children" spinoff based on David Faustino's character, Bud Bundy. Pitch meetings for the new series have reportedly just begun, but no deal has been made.

The original show also starred "Sons of Anarchy" actress Katey Sagal, actor Ed O'Neill and Christina Applegate. The entire cast reunited at Sagal's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony on Tuesday, where Applegate, who played Kelly Bundy, mentioned that the project may be in the works.

"We're going to do something with Dave maybe," she said. "I don't know if it will be in character. I don't know what that's going to be. I don't know if I'm allowed to speak on that at all. So I should probably stop talking about it right now!"

Sagal, who received four nominations for her role as Peg Bunday, added: "We've talked about it every year, but then there are so many pieces that have to be in alignment that for some reason it never happens. But we love each other. Well, we're all working now, so it's hard to find the time!"

It is unknown which characters, if any, will return to the potential spinoff, however Applegate said she is not interested in reprising her 90's role, explaining, "We all kind of have other things going on. No one wants to see me in a miniskirt anymore. I'm 42 years old. I never wanted to see me in them back when I was 18. I don't know if I could go that route."

The series followed the lives of a dysfunctional family living in a fictional Chicago suburb and ran for 11 seasons from 1987 to 1997, making it one of the longest-lasting live-action sitcoms on FOX. In 2008, "Married with Children" ranked No. 94 on Entertainment Weekly's "New TV Classics" list.

The sitcom was created by Michael G. Moye and Ron Leavitt.
